Inspired by Martin Kippenberger’s installation The Happy End of Franz Kafka’s “Amerika”, this collection draws directly from its distinct color palette and its mood of surreal, communal absurdity. The settings recall a quiet riverbank ambiance, complemented by ambient water sounds and loose, breezy silhouettes. References span iconic cinema, including Satyajit Ray’s The Apu Trilogy and Jean Renoir’s The River, which naturally manifest in tunic shapes and coiled headpieces. Utilitarian shapes merge with cinematic texture throughout the looks, while military cotton bags and Nehru collars reflect a rich, intentional cultural layering.
